I attended Gaston College and University of Phoenix and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I took voice and piano for 10 years. I share my testimony through singing and teaching. I have worked in the education field since I was 15 with my first job being before and after school care. I taught 1st grade in Mooresville Graded school district and the Lord led me to this wonderful school! Teaching at Denver Christian Academy is an amazing opportunity to tailor to each child! Teaching is second nature and something I do for the love of watching children’s face light up when they understand new concepts, and when they begin to love reading!
“The more you read, the more you know, the more you know the more you grow!” Dr. Seuss. I love all of my students; past, present, and future!! 1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us!”
“I became a teacher to help others in this world. I want to help them learn, help them dream, but mostly—I want to help them know they matter.” Teresa Kwant
I have been married for 3 years to my loving and supporting husband, Jonathan! He is a wonderful blessing and supportive of my teaching antics. We enjoy ministering in song, serving God and others through our church, hunting, as well as late night Netflix! We have a little girl, Gracie, who is 2. She is such a gift from God and a little light to whom she meets. She shares Jesus wherever we go and it encourages me to do the same. I love to cook, thrift shop, decorate, sing, and spend time with my family!
Picking just one favorite Bible verse is difficult because there are different verses for different seasons. I have two very distinct verses that I love and guide me daily.
Lamentations 3:23 His mercies are new every morning!
John 16:33 “…,that ye may have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Our class verse: “Encouraging students to never give up because with God,
ALL things are possible!
